Pilot Wife

They met on a hot summer Texas day in 2014 when Vanessa had just moved to the Dallas area. Neil was gentleman enough to let her know he could show her around town as friends. The inquisitive reporter that Vanessa is, interrogated Pilot Captain Neil Delaney before they went on their first date. Neil answered all the right questions to convince her to go on a first date. On August 11th, 2014 they met at Trulucks Restaurant in Uptown Dallas where the conversation was effortless and the laughs overflowed. They both knew they had found something extremely special. Vanessa headed to work with butterflies in her stomach and Neil left with his heart skipping beats after they had shared what was a sweet symbolic foreshadowing of their future: The Chocolate Box dessert. The Chocolate Box is filled with different kinds of berries, cheesecake pieces and even whipped cream! It was a box full of surprises just like their months to come.

In the past three years, Neil and Vanessa traveled all over the world. Their journey together began at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. They say if you want to get to know someone, travel with them! And so they did. Well they got to know each other and fall in love in 51 different destinations. After 730 days writing their love story, Neil devoted his love for Vanessa kneeling on one knee under the Pont de Bir-Hakeim bridge with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop asking “Will you marry me?”. Vanessa in pure shock and happiness at the same time said “of course, I love you! ” They both knew this day would come since their first date but it was magical the way it happened in the breathtaking French city that marked the beginning of forever for Vanessa & Neil.

They decided to get married where Neil’s family is from- Ireland. They were captivated by the Emerald Isle’s picturesque scenery and it’s welcoming kind people. So, they tied the knot where Neil’s grandparents grew up in County Leitrim. They exchanged their vows at St. Patrick’s Church of Mohill and later celebrated at the beautiful Lough Rynn Castle. Horses and rainbows decorated their favorite day yet lived. Now they await their greatest demonstration of love – a baby girl on the way!
